Stinger Tee Buyer's Guide - Which tee is best for me?
"I've seen the results first hand; Stinger tees work!  I can't afford to use anything else."
Brian Pavlet
National Long Drive Champion

"Stinger tees give me more distance and accuracy than any other tee. If I can get an advantage over the field by using a better tee I'll do it every time."
Chris Anderson
Nationwide Tour Player

2 1/4" - The shorter length of this tee makes it ideal for smaller headed drivers and fairway woods, hybrids, and iron shots played from teeing ground.  Also, players who most often play courses with closely mown, firm tee boxes may prefer this length.  This tee is not geared towards those using the newer, 460cc, deep faced drivers.

2 3/4" Pro XL - It is no accident that this is our most popular tee.  The 2 3/4" Pro XL tee is designed to suit the preferences of most players on the teeing ground.  It enables a golfer to tee the ball high enough to accommodate the larger headed drivers, but is not considered an oversized, specialty length tee.

3 1/4" Pro XL - This length tee is geared toward those who have a preference to tee the ball higher than the average player.  A player who correctly uses the 3 1/4" Pro XL will tee the ball near or above the top edge of the driver's clubface.  This tee is also ideal for golfers playing on tee boxes where the grass is not closely mown.

4" Pro XL - This model is very player specific.  It is quite common that those who use 4" tees will use no other length (you know who you are), and those who do not will find them to be extremely long.  This tee will set the ball well above the top edge of even the largest of today's drivers.

3" Competition - This model is designed with a head 1/2 the size of that on the Pro XL model Stinger tee.  It is the best performing tee in golf (see test results), but it is not the best tee for every player.  Those who are not steady handed may be better served with the more forgiving Pro XL model.  The "Competition" tee, while available to all players, is most popular among Tour and Club Professionals, and low-handicap amateurs.

4" Competition - This model is a 4" version of the 3" Competition tee.  The suggestions associated with both the 4: Pro XL and the 3" Competition are applicable here.

Q: Why is it so important to use the correct length tee?  Why not buy a longer tee and insert it deeper into the ground if I so choose?
A: The deeper you insert the tee into the ground, the more resistance you are creating, and thus losing distance.  See our guide on how to use a golf tee.
